Ski Instructor Jobs Austria

For 4 decades, French resorts have been the top destination for British holidaymakers, and ski instructor trainees alike. By offering linked resorts, modern lifts and ski-in/ski-out chalets, French resorts arguably became bigger and better.

The tide is changing! Austrian resorts have been installing infrastructure that is unrivalled, connecting resorts and working hard to make their incredible powder fields, wide-open pistes and gorgeous towns accessible to all. Cheaper accommodation, lift passes and restaurants make Austria an astute choice. That an the amazing après of course!

New Generation has recently moved into St Anton, the “home” of modern skiing. More and more Brits are flocking to the resort, meaning more instructors are required too.

To be able to work on the slopes in Austria you need to hold the equivalent to the Austrian Anwarter qualification, which in BASI terms would be the BASI Level 2.

What other requirements do I need to consider to work in Austria?

Applying for Recognition

If you are looking to apply for work in Austria as a BASI Level 2 instructor, you will need to apply to the appropriate local government to recognise your qualification. For example, if you want to work in St Anton, you will need to apply to the Tyrol department. The process takes 2-4 weeks on average and costs around €200 depending on your qualification.

Please refer to the BASI website for more detailed information on how to apply, and the steps required.

Working in Austria

As Austria is part of the EU you do not require a visa to visit and work there.  The ski school that you have found employment with will usually make the appropriate registrations with the relevant authorities on your behalf.
