Villars ISIA Training

Flexible ISIA Training in Villars

Choosing your ISIA training course is a big decision. As the step up from BASI Level 2 to Level 3 is a big one most students need focused support from an experienced coach to reach the level required.  Our BASI Level 3 ISIA training in Villars is unique as it gives trainees the chance to benefit from intensive training without having to commit to a full season long course.

Join us for intensive training blocks which lead up to the Level 3 Tech Exams in Val d’Isere, Verbier or Hintertux. With the option to join us for one, two or all three of the training blocks you can build up a training plan to suit your own needs.

Block 1 is perfect for those who already have their 200 teaching hours signed off and are close to passing the tech exam or are working for a resit and need some focused training early season to get their ski legs back and the polish they need before the early season exams.

Blocks 2 and 3 are suited for those still working to sign off their hours, or who feel they need a bit more time before they are ready to tackle the exams. Those aiming for the exams in Verbier or Hintertux.

All coaching is delivered by a BASI trainer who is perfectly placed to help you get to the required level before your exams.

THE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Training

Training takes place Monday to Friday and is made up of full days on snow with video feedback used to maximise your performance.

Every session will have a clear outline, you will receive feedback throughout the day and will be given a summary / personal action plan to improve, meaning you can put your feedback straight back into your skiing.

Technical Focus

The course will be based around the requirements of the exam. On the technical side, we will show you what you need to do to meet the requirements for:

  • Short turns
  • Medium radius turns
  • Variable and steep terrain skiing
  • Bumps and moguls

Your Mentor

Training is run by Alessandro Cambon – Ale is the Resort manager in Villars and runs training courses for BASI Level 1, 2 and 3. While qualifying in one system is enough for most ski instructors Ale has qualified in 3. As well as holding the Italian Maestro de Sci, the Swiss Patente, and the BASI Level 4 ISTD Ale is also a trainer and examiner for BASI.

This experience has given Ale a wealth on knowledge which leaves him perfectly placed to challenge you to bring your skiing to the next level.

The Resort

The charming villages of Gryon and Villars offer a fun friendly base with access to world class skiing. With pistes to suit skiers of all levels and abilities there is a great variety of runs to work on every aspect of your skiing. From the lower gentler runs around Villars, perfect for practicing your carving, to the epic Glacier 3000 there is something here for everyone. A lively, friendly atmosphere combined with some serious skiing make for an amazing ski instructor course.

After the course

As soon as you start your ISIA qualification you’ll realise that there’s no right way to complete your instructor qualifications – it is all about finding the way that is right for you.

For students who successfully complete their ISIA qualification as part of this course or any of our other programmes, we have our highly successful Verbier training team. This team combines work during the busy periods of the season with an intensive 6 week training programme leading up to the Level 4 tech and teach exams.

If spending a whole season training is not for you, then you should consider our exam prep weeks. Run by our Tech team which consists of BASI trainers, Eurotest openers and BASI demo team members these weeks are the perfect way to make the final changes before your exams.

We quite often find that upon completion of their ISIA students who did decide to join the Verbier training team quite often stay on and move into one of our French ski schools. In some cases going full cycle and running the same instructor course they started on.

Other Level 3 Courses to Consider

If our ISIA Prep Weeks aren’t right for you, then not to worry, we have other ISIA training courses that will help you get to your BASI level 3 Exam.
