Well the ski show is over for another year and it was so nice to see some friendly faces at the show. Its great to see that so many of our students from last year are continuing through their training with us this coming season.
I bumped into Josh Maddison and Zac Pajak who we first met in 2012, they were both on our Courchevel Gap Course together and passed their BASI Level 2. Josh came back to Courchevel last winter to join out ISIA Training and will now be joining our Level 4 Training Team over in Verbier. Zac went off to Uni after his Gap Course but decided skiing was his passion so he back with us this winter in Courchevel to start training towards his Level 3.
I also bumped into Sophie Hammett who was on our Courchevel Gap Course last year. Unfortunately Sophie was unable to complete the course due to injury but she is back with us this year on our BASI level 2 Trainingin Tignes and Courchevel. She is now feeling recovered from her injury and looking forward to picking up where she left off.
It was nice to see Matt Mauduit and Simon Jarvis from the 2012 Courchevel Gap looking round the show. After taking the Gap Course Matt joined our Train and Work program over in Nendaz last winter. This course allowed him to train towards his Level 3 whilst also working for Neige Aventure Ski School. He enjoyed this so much that he is going to be back again this coming winter. Simon is hoping to get some time out on the slopes again this winter after working out in Verbier last season.
On Thursday evening we had arranged to meet up with a few of our 2014 Gap Students. I took along Amy who took our Gap Course back in 2010, trained for her Level 3 with us and then went on to teach with us in Verbier. We met up with Simon and Giancarlo who are both going to be heading out to Verbier in a few weeks time to start their 10 week Gap Courses. It was a great opportunity for them to meet each other before the course started and Amy was able to offer them a great insight into what life in Verbier will be like for them.
It was so nice to see so many of you there and thank you for coming to find us to say hello! We are looking forward to what we hope will be a great season and wish you all the best of luck in your Instructor Courses!
If you are thinking about taking a course this winter but think you might be too late, don’t panic! We still have places available on our Gap Courses, BASI level 2 Training, ISIA and Standalone BASI Courses.
