Ski School Experience Course
The BASI system requires that once you have completed your BASI Level 1 exam, you need a First Aid Certificate, your child protection module and 35 hours experience before you can work on a dry/indoor slope. Before you can attend your BASI Level 2 Exam a minimum of 70 hours of ski school experience is required.
Here at New Generation we find shadowing and taking part in lessons delivered by our BASI trainers and ISTD instructors to be the most effective way of gaining ski school experience and we are really keen to help young instructors where we can. As such we are happy to offer shadowing in any of our resorts on a week by week basis free of charge. We are unable to let students shadow privates but in all resorts have a variety of group lessons running each week.
At the end of the course, our Ski Instructor Training team will give you a letter confirming these hours. You will then need to pass this on to BASI.
If you are interested in completing your hours yet also looking to train towards your BASI Level 2 exam then why not have a look at our BASI level 2 training weeks. With 50 hours of training that also counts as your ski school experience, they are a great way to prepare.
For those on a BASI 1 & 2 ski instructor course all of your shadowing hours are included as part of the programme.
