Our ISIA training team consists of BASI trainers, Interski demo team members and Eurotest openers. Full profiles of every trainer can be found further down the page.

What’s included?

  • 25 Hours Of Training

  • VIDEO ANALYSIS

  • Career and Recruitment support

  • Access to video archives of performances at each level

THE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Sessions generally take place Monday to Friday, with on-sessions in the morning followed by video feedback. Each on-snow session will have a clear outline – a task / outcome will be set at the beginning of the session and the following two hours are dedicated to developing the task. You will receive feedback throughout the session and will be given a summary / personal action plan to improve, meaning you can put your feedback straight back into your skiing.

The training will prepare you well, and you will know what to expect in terms of terrain and task for your exams. Each student is given a coaching mentor who will monitor their progress and help the student to structure their practice time by regular debriefs and action plans.

Technical

The course will be based around the requirements of the exam. On the technical side, we will show you what you need to do to meet the requirements for:

  • Short turns
  • Medium radius turns
  • Variable and steep terrain skiing
  • Bumps and moguls

What’s next?

We will then set about helping you to meet the criteria and work on making the changes make you strong and convincing candidate for the exam.

Useful information before starting your course

We know you will have loads of questions about what else you might need for your course, how much money you will need, and more…

What additional costs do I need to consider?

There are always extra costs you will need to consider when applying for any instructor course, from lift passes to accommodation. Therefore the following list will help guide you through the extra costs:

Lift Passes – 6 days

  • Trois Vallees  – €289
  • Val D’Isere /Tignes  – €270
  • Verbier 4 Valleys  – CHF373

Accommodation

Each resort has accommodation to suit all levels, be it a fully catered chalet or a simple B&B.

You should budget for around £200 for a weeks accommodation non-catered, and around £350 for catered. Prices may vary depending on exchange rates, and will likely be higher in Verbier.

Food and living

There are small supermarkets in town, but it is advantageous to buy your food on the way to resort as it is much cheaper outside of the ski stations.

Where can I stay?

For Courchevel, we recommend staying in Le Praz or Courchevel village, which are both just below 1850 which and are well connected by bubbles and free buses. They are considerably cheaper than the main resort.

For Val D’Isere, you have many options within the town, though are more likely to find budget accommodation in La Daille, a town just a few minutes away and again well connected by free bus shuttles.

In Verbier, the accommodation is very expensive, but you will be able to find B&B’s dotted around the edge of the town, and may find more reasonably priced accommodation in Le Chable which is just below the main resort and connected by gondola.

After the course

As soon as you start your ISIA qualification you’ll realise that there’s no right way to complete your instructor qualifications – it is all about finding the way that is right for you.

For students who successfully complete their ISIA qualification as part of this course or any of our other programmes, we have our highly successful Verbier training team. This team combines work during the busy periods of the season with an intensive 6 week training programme leading up to the Level 4 tech and teach exams.

If spending a whole season training is not for you, then you should consider our exam prep weeks. Run by our Tech team which consists of BASI trainers, Eurotest openers and BASI demo team members these weeks are the perfect way to make the final changes before your exams.

We quite often find that upon completion of their ISIA students who did decide to join the Verbier training team quite often stay on and move into one of our French ski schools. In some cases going full cycle and running the same instructor course they started on.

Other Level 3 Courses to Consider

If our ISIA Prep Weeks aren’t right for you, then not to worry, we have other ISIA training courses that will help you get to your BASI level 3 Exam.
