BASI 1 & 2 Long & Gap year Ski Instructor Courses
These courses are where it all started the original gap year ski instructor training programmes. These courses are a great way to develop your skiing and build the confidence to tackle the whole mountain from charging down groomed pistes to ripping through wide open powder bowls. Packed with everything you need not just to become an instructor but to take your skiing to the next level. While becoming a ski instructor may not be your ultimate goal the qualifications earned on this course are aligned with the EQF (European qualifications framework) meaning they are useful outside the ski industry. Alternatively, perhaps you like the idea of free ski holidays if you are heading back to Uni after the course your holidays are the ski industries busiest time. Finding paid work as a ski instructor during this time is easy. You can even head to Australia or New Zealand for your whole summer holiday.
Our 10 week Courchevel programme is often imitated but never duplicated. The original BASI 1 & 2 course. An unbeatable package with excellent accommodation, incredible skiing and a tight-knit community.
This ski instructor course combines a massive ski area, DC snow park and a town with a buzzing party atmosphere. A highly sought after course that leaves nothing to be desired. Often one of the first programmes to fill so book early to avoid disappointment.
Early Start BASI 1 & 2 Ski Instructor Courses
These courses are not for the faint hearted they give you the perfect opportunity to develop your skiing and build the confidence to tackle the whole mountain whether attacking the pistes or cruising through the backcountry. However, they are shorter and more focused than our other programmes. Unlike our Courchevel and Meribel courses, these courses run from earlier in the season with the aim of helping people get quickly qualified so they can head off and work as ski instructors around the world. These courses can still be excellent gap year options though. If you are already a confident skier and you like the idea of being a little more self-responsible and perhaps working elsewhere in the world, then they could be for you. Students on our Stubai programme will have the opportunity to work a full season as an instructor with job opportunities everywhere from Japan to Austria. Our Verbier programme is more of a halfway house and finishes right before half term meaning you should quickly find work.
If you are serious about taking your skiing to the next level, then Stubai could be the course for you. This little-known resort is the training ground of some of the world’s best racers and freeskiers.
This world-famous resort is home to some of the best freeride terrain on the planet. Combine this with a party atmosphere and a large team of young trainee instructors, and you will have a season you never forget.
