Life Skills learnt on the Mountain.
Our new Performance and Adventure programme is a little different to anything we have delivered before. The ski instructor qualifications take a back seat here. Our focus is on developing skills and qualifications to support you throughout your life and professional career, whether you are on a mountain or in a board room.
On this course, you will spend time skiing with some of our best coaches on some of the world’s best terrain. We aim to develop your skiing and confidence so that you can tackle everything, from tough bumps runs to steep couloirs and world cup pistes. As your ability grows, we will continually reach further, taking you ski touring up onto big North Face Descents, into the park to develop your skills in the air and then bringing this all together so you can tackle any run with style and flow.
We know you may need to sell it to parents or the bank manager too. Your time on snow will naturally develop your team building and leadership skills. But there is more. You will also achieve a level 1 instructor qualification, do not just a first aid course, but become a first aid trainer and complete a level 3 award in education and training.
The 3 Valleys is a world-famous ski area but possibly not one that you would instantly associate with Performance and Adventure skiing. However, we love it for performance & adventure skiing for this exact reason. With most guests flocking to the 3 Valleys to make the most of seemingly endless pistes that are kept in awesome condition. The back & side country remains largely untouched for those who want to venture further afield.
With skiing from 800m right up to 3220m, you will find somewhere to ski whatever the conditions.
When the storms roll in, our team will take you into the tree runs that litter the lower half of the ski area. The Treeline in the 3 Valleys runs right up to about 2100m, so you have plenty of options open to you. It is hard to pick just one or two runs to highlight but Fork Tree would definitely always make the cut. Located just above 1650 this hard to find gem is littered with little drops and. We have popped a video below from the Team at the Bootlab that is definitely worth a watch.
Once the clouds clear you are even more spoilt for choice. Both on and off-piste. On-piste runs you will fall in live with the wide perfectly maintained runs the resort is famous for. With plenty of rollers to take air off and very little in terms of traffic they are a dream for fast, flowing skiing.
Away from the marked runs, the Variety of terrain will surprise everyone. Without needing to hike you can access hundreds of runs from wide-open powders bowls to tight narrow couloirs. We have included another video below. It is really important to point out both were filmed in the 3 Valleys. Not what you expected, I bet.
Courchevel & Méribel
Having somewhere to switch off and relax is a key ingredient in making sure you get the most from your course.
When selecting the accommodation we know that we have to balance price with location, space, and comfort. The apartments we use are cosy, to use estate agent speak. They are, however, clean, warm, and right next to the pistes.
During the program, you’ll work towards several different qualifications.
The Level 1 Ski Instructor qualification is your first step on the ladder to working as a snowsports instructor across the world. While becoming a snowsports instructor is not the primary focus of the course, there is no doubt that these courses build a great foundation.
The Level 3 award in education and training is perfect for those who work, or want to work as teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sector. In our day to day lives, we will all spend some time as teachers or coaches. Whether we are specifically being paid for it or it is an implicit part of our role as a manager. It is essential knowledge.
The award in education and training also opens the door to becoming a First Aid Trainer, and this qualification combined with your first aid training will open that door for you.
