On the Mountain
Marktrestaurant(£) – A self-service restaurant found at the Gamsgarten station (2620m). It holds 500 seats indoor and 1,100 outdoor with deck chairs for those gorgeous sunny days. It’s self-service, and you can try all the local dishes such as Weiner Schnitzel (€8.80) and Dumpling Soup (€4.60) without breaking the bank.
Zur Goldenen Gams Restaurant (££) – Just upstairs from the Marktrestaurant is the table-service Zur Goldenen. Wait times can be long when the resort is busy, but its worth the wait for the Beef Goulash and cheese spaetzle.
Schaufelspitz Restaurant (£££) – This gem claims to be the highest gourmet restaurant in the world, at 3,000m. We recommend you book a table if you want to eat here. Starters come in around €15 – €26, and mains €30 upwards. It’s a very classy eatery, and perfect for special occasions.
Near The Chalet
Pizzeria Casanova (£) – A classic pizzeria in the centre of town, perfect for sitting in or takeaway. You can also find a variety of Italian dishes and wine if you’re feeling fancy!
Zur Huisler Stube (£) – For classic Austrian fare, look no further. A cosy, traditional restaurant serving schnitzel, noodle soup and the classic Kaiserschmarrn, a shredded pancake dessert.
Apres & Nightlife
Après begins in Stubai at the famed “umbrella bar”, the Schirmbar Mutterberg. Next stop is the American bar, which is a favourite with locals and visitors alike. Hit the Dorf Pub on Wednesdays for live bands or if you’re looking for a more chill atmosphere, try the Rossini Pub or the Pia cocktail bar.
Closer to home is the Kratzbaum, Fulpmes’ very own table dancing bar. It looks quaint and traditional on the outside, but the inside comes alive at night!
Theres plenty to do in Stubai – there are so many activities, Doug from Doug’s Mountain Getaway (your new home!) has listed a different one for every single day of the year! Here’s just a few.
