Record breaking summer skiing in Verbier with New Generation

Making our way up

Making our way up

It seems that while there are records being broken in the UK (hottest day of the year yesterday!) – they’re also being smashed in Verbier. But this time it’s skiing.

On Sunday, New Generation Verbier Ski Instructors Amy and Gordon skied Mont Fort, in Verbier.  It was the first time in 26 years the lifts were open to ski at the weekend in the Summer!

At 3,328m high, Mont Fort is the highest mountain in the 4 Valleys. And in the summer the cable car that takes you up to the top hasn’t been open for over a quarter of a century! This is a real sign that winter 2012.13 has been the season of incredible snow conditions – as Amy says:

I’ve now had about three ‘last skis of the season’ but every time I think I’ve put my skis away for the summer another opportunity arises. If you fancy trying out summer skiing yourself (either in Europe or the UK) drop us an email on info@skinewgen.com – and you can follow Amy’s adventures on her blog too.
