Our 1 For 1 Promise

January 30, 2018/in Environmental and Social Responsibility /by Chris

Did you know that by choosing to train with us you are positively impacting the life of someone else?

At New Gen we truly believe that businesses have the power to create positive change in the world. To do this, we need to integrate charitable giving into their day to day activities. This is why we have become lifelong members of Buy1Give1 (B1G1). B1G1 are a non profit social enterprise which links us to over 600 small grassroots charities around the world. This allows us to support projects inspired by what we are doing within New Gen, which makes our donations feel relevant to us and connects us to the giving that we do.

Buy1Give1

Through B1G1 we have committed to a 1 For 1 Promise. This means that for every day of instructor training delivered this season, we will sponsor a day of training for a young person in need. The project we have chosen provides practical life skills training to young orphans about to leave care in Ukraine. This will help prepare them to manage their finances, health and nutrition when they begin living independently.

Buy1Give1 Ukraine

This means that everyday you spend skiing with us you are actively helping another young person across the globe to train for their future as well.

Together we really can make a difference.

If you want to know more about the charity giving that we do you can have a look at our website. If you want to see how we have incorporated our 1 For 1 Promise into our ski school work, through supporting education projects in Cambodia, then check out the video below.

One of the ski-touring skills that many people find hardest to acquire is map-work. Being able to use a map to work out where you are, where you’ve been and where you think you’re going next is fundamental to safe travel. The best way to manage avalanche risk is by choosing the right terrain. The […]
