5 Skiing Instagrams You Need To Follow

What does instagram mean to you? For some, it’s a place to find inspiration, allowing you to follow your idols and watch them grow. They can drip-feed advice and provide a valuable source of motivation when you’re training, working as an instructor or simply trying to be a better skier.

That’s why its so important to curate your feed, and follow the right people. That foes for brands too – many are achieving things we could never have dreamed of. From creating high-quality kit from plastic bottles to pioneering new sports, there’s something to be said for looking beyond the athlete for interesting content.

So here is our top pick of skiers and brands who inspire us.

Ester Ledecká

If you don’t know about Ester, then you should! She shocked the Alpine Racing circuit last week by winning gold in the Pyeongchang Olympic Super G event. Having never acheived a result higher than 19th, this came as a surprise to veteran skiers such as Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin. Esepcially given she’s better known as a snowboarder! Ester is the epitome of #girlswhoshred and we can’t wait to see what she gets up to next.

Open Wear / Open Wear Community

Open Wear describe themselves as a “collective of passionate skiers and snowboarders”. To create their sustainable outerwear, they researched everything from where to source materials to who would be making their clothing. The end result is technical, reliable ski gear made from recycled plastics, made in factories which feed their workers using their own gardens. Their instagram does not disappoint – filled with face-shots, deep pow and extreme routes.

Reilly McGlashan

Do you dream of powder fields, high-end skiing and brightly-coloured ski suits? Look no further! Reilly McGlashan’s feed is everything you could wish for in a skiers instagram. The powder shots are stunning, but he doesn’t compromise on hard-hitting technical piste skiing to strike a balance. He’s also sponsored by Volkl, Dalbello, Marker and Onyone so there’s plenty for kit-fiends to drool over too.

New Generation Instructor Courses

Well, we couldn’t miss out our own feed! Want to know what it takes to become a ski instructor? Look no further. With off-piste adventures, on-piste skills and the all-important aprés, the full range of season life is right at your fingertips. Keep your eyes peeled for competitions too.

Gap course goals 🙌

Aksel Svindal

This week he officially became the oldest Alpine Skiing medalist – achieving Gold in the Pyeongchang Olympics. Arguably Norways greatest ever skier going by his world cup achievements, his feed is filled with world-class skiing and a sneak peak into what it takes to become an athlete of his calibre.
