The Skiing

Méribel is one of the Trois Vallees, which is the world’s largest connected ski area with over 600km of pistes. As Méribel is situated in the centre of the 3 Valleys it has the easiest access to the full ski area. The valley has terrain to suit everyone, from beginner to expert including excellent off-piste routes and its very own freestyle park.

The resort infrastructure is hard to beat too – the lift system upgraded every season and includes lots of fast gondolas and chairlifts. There is also a free bus shuttle to get you between the various village resorts, this runs throughout the day and well into the night.

On the Slopes
As the resort is part of the biggest ski area in the world, the area is really diverse. Gentle greens can be found near the valley bottom and there is a great selection of blue runs off Platieres. Head higher to make the most of the challenging red runs that come off Mont du Vallon, Mont de la Chambre or Saulire.
Cross-country
If you want to head away from the busy pistes there are lots of great cross country tracks winding through the trees. You can hire skis and boots from almost any equipment shop for around €10 a day so you can keep fit without breaking the bank! A favourite trail is a red going from Le Praz in Courchevel, up past the Bouc Blanc restaurant and around to Méribel Village. The view when the Meribel valley opens up is breathtaking.
Off-Piste
With easy access to the whole of the three valleys, there is plenty of off-piste on offer from Méribel. Whether you want to head high up, into the trees or down the Saulire couloirs at the top of the resort.

Remember, you should never ski off-piste without the correct kit and expertise. Always Respect the Mountain.

Eating Out

Le Rond Point (£) – This piste-side spot is a firm favourite among holidaymakers and locals alike. Known as “The Ronnie” to many they serve hearty meals at reasonable prices with pizzas, generous salads, roasties and more. When après time hits there is often live music on the sunny terrace and a noodle snack bar if you are still peckish.

La Fromagerie (££) – As its name might suggest this is a classic Savoyard cheese-fest. With the best raclette and fondu in town, this reasonably priced cave is a great option for hearty local food.

L’Ekrin (£££) – This Michelin starred is an epicurean delight. Found within the Kaila Hotel right in the centre of Meribel. Think black truffles, specialised wine pairing and scallops seared to perfection. Reservation is necessary!

Après & Nightlife

Méribel has a great reputation for its apres scene and nightlife with lots to choose from.

La Folie Douce – The biggest party on the piste La Folie Douce is famous in resorts across the Alps. The party kicks off at 1 pm with live DJ’s, dancers and entertainers who put on an impressive show and really do “party every day”!

Le Rond Point – Another piste-side option Le Rond Point is the original home of Meribel Apres. With live music every day and a sunny terrace for dancing on tables this is an oldie and a goodie. Look out for big events and gigs here throughout the season as well.

Jacks Bar – Found in the centre of town near the La Chaudanne Jacks Bar is a great spot for apres, a night out or to catch the sport and grab a pizza. With lots of events throughout the season, it is well worth checking out. It’s a firm favourite for trainees on our Ski Instructor Courses in Méribel.
