FAQ’S
How skilled do you need to be to join the Courchevel ski instructor course?
If you’re confidently linking parallel turns on steep reds within a tight three-metre path and keeping your speed in check, you’re all set. Before joining this ski instructor course, we advise that you’re comfortable and at ease on all marked pistes.
Which is the best Airport to fly to?
Fly to Geneva Airport – that’s where our organised transfer awaits you.
Getting from Geneva Airport to Courchevel
Rest assured – we’ve got your back and we’ll organise your transfer to and from Courchevel. To make it smoother, we group our skiers by arrival times, so there might be a short airport wait before you’re mountain-bound.
Do you need to be able to snowboard?
Not at all. Focus on skiing for now. Once you’ve passed your BASI Level 2 and you’re aiming for BASI Level 3, you can venture into snowboarding if you want, as a second discipline is a requirement for that level.
Does the Courchevel ski instructor course include a ski pass?
Yes, your lift pass is included in the cost of your course, meaning no hidden costs.
Do you need avalanche Safety equipment for the course?
To put it bluntly – yes. At New Generation Ski and Snowboard School, we always put safety first. If you’re going off-piste, pack a transceiver, shovel, and probe. You can either rent them for the off-piste days or bring your own. Note, this isn’t part of the initial course package but is an add-on you might want to consider.
Do you need to speak a second language for this course?
This course will be delivered in English. However, the better your language skills, the easier it will be to find work immediately after the course and in the future.
Will you get a job after the course?
After you ace your BASI Level 2, there’s a potential instructor spot waiting for you in our team during peak times. It’s important to note that employment opportunities are subject to qualification recognition and working rights and that different ski nations accept different qualifications than others.
Once you pass your BASI level 2 exams, you’ll have the chance to interview for a position on our instructor team, with the possibility of working in our ski schools during the busy periods of Christmas, Half-Term, and Easter. If you’re unsure of what to do next, we also run employment seminars to help you gain valuable insights into how to secure a job as a ski instructor.
What qualifications do our coaches have?
You’ll be learning from the best. Our coaches are all fully certified instructors, including BASI trainers and specialist mentors, to get you exam ready.
What is meant by "the central theme?"
The central theme is BASI’s ski lingo for the stages of development we use as ski instructors to progressively assist learners in their journey from beginner to advanced parallel skiers. We’ll dive deep into this development model when we hit the slopes.
