Get to know Ale

Ale grew up in Varese in the north of Italy and has been with New Generation since 2012 in Nendaz, Courchevel, Villars & Verbier. I love carving on a hard-groomed piste and slaloming through trees on a powder day.

I am the new director of our Verbier ski school and I also took on the role of Development Courses Manager. This consists of working with all our other ski schools across Europe to develop the instructor’s programmes.

What do you like about coaching?

I became a trainer because I enjoy helping motivated people to develop and reach their goals. I love the variety of work the job offers; different locations, people from all over the world with different stories to tell. I like coaching because it gives me the possibility to work with high-end skiers on high-end performance which is something I am very passionate about.

What motivates you to get on your skis?

The sensation of freedom it brings, especially off-piste on a powder day skiing through trees.

What do you do after winter?

I work full-time for New Generation all year round. In my free time, I like learning new things, travelling and playing way too many sports. I like to ride my bike, keep fit and explore new places in my van.

I also used to train and compete in pole vault. In 2016 I won the silver medal at the World Masters Champs in Perth, Australia.
